Associate Vice President of Career Readiness
Glenn Gibney is the Associate Vice President for Career Readiness at Georgia Southern University where he leads the transformation of career readiness from an optional activity to an integral part of the student experience. In that role Glenn oversees the strategic direction and operations of the Office of Career and Professional Development that serves more than 28,000 students. Glenn uses his extensive industry experience and his knowledge of how “work, works” to build career development programs and strategic employer relationships that help Georgia Southern students develop the essential skills they need to be successful in the workforce. Prior to his work in Higher Education, Glenn built a highly successful career in sales, client management, and executive leadership at NCR Corporation, VeriSign, and Asurion. Glenn earned a MBA from the University of Dayton, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University

Dr. McKenzie Peterman brings more than 16 years of progressive experience in higher education. Championing student success with a strong focus on career development, academic advising, enrollment services, and belonging initiatives, she currently serves as the Associate Director of Career Development & Instruction. Within the Office of Career and Professional Development, she leads a dynamic team of Career & Internship Advisors and a Coordinator of Instruction in collaborative faculty engagement on career readiness and curriculum development, aligned with Georgia Southern’s institutional learning outcomes, in support of Ready Day 1 Connect.
Dr. Peterman is certified in Emotional Intelligence (EQ-i 2.0), Safe Space, and Green Zone. She has been recognized with several institutional and community awards for leadership and service. As a two-time Georgia Southern alum and proud Eagle, Dr. Peterman is passionate about cultivating empowering environments that support students in growing in confidence both personally and professionally as they navigate their journey as lifelong learners.

Rachael Barrett has worked in the Office of Career and Professional Development since 2001. With an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a master’s in Higher Education, she has found that working with business students is a natural fit. Rachael’s background includes years of experience as a Human Resources manager and in Student Employment, which fueled her desire to help business students become well-prepared for their transition into the professional world.
She is an active member of both the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), organizations that provide invaluable insights and resources in her chosen career field.

Tonira is a Career and Internship Advisor at Georgia Southern University, serving students from the Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Information Technology and the College of Science and Mathematics. With a Master of Education in Learning, Leadership, and Organization Development from the University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science in Child & Family Development from Georgia Southern University, Tonira has been advising students since 2018. She now specializes in helping students with resume writing, mock interviews, job search strategies, and career assessments.
In her role, Tonira guides students through key professional milestones, including securing internships, preparing for graduate school, and developing tailored strategies for career development. She also collaborates with faculty and staff to foster student engagement in career-related programming and events. Amy Rowell has worked in the Office of Career and Professional Development at Georgia Southern for the past 27 years. She currently serves as a Career and Internship Advisor for the College of Education and the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Her main responsibilities include assisting students with major decisions, résumé writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies, and graduate school planning. She also works closely with faculty within the colleges and presents to classes on a variety of career related topics. As a Certified Professional Résumé Writer and Career Coach, Amy is passionate about guiding students through the career planning process to help them in achieving their future goals. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Science Education and her Master of Arts in Student Personnel Services from Northwestern State University. She has also worked at the University of Arkansas, Monticello in Residence Life, Student Activities, and Career Services.

As an experienced higher education professional and former finance team leader, Madison brings over a decade of expertise in relationship management, organizational strategy, and cross-functional leadership to Georgia Southern University. Currently serving as the Employer Relations Coordinator, she leads initiatives that strengthen employer engagement, increase recruitment opportunities for students, and elevate our university’s career development programming.
Madison began her professional journey in finance, where she spent several years in progressive leadership roles in accounts payable. These roles sharpened her skills in vendor relations, team leadership, reporting, and process improvement. As an alumna of the University, she now applies these skills in higher education to build strategic partnerships and enhance student career outcomes for her Aluma Mater.

With a Master of Science in Clinical-Counseling Psychology and over 20 years professional experience in higher education I now oversee the Pre-Professional Advising team, Eagle Mentoring Programs, and serve as the primary point of contact for all alumni of Georgia Southern University or Armstrong State University. After falling in love with the field shortly after starting my undergraduate courses I have spent my entire career in Career Development within Higher Education. It wasn’t my original plan but once I came across the field all the puzzle pieces fell in place for me! My counseling style is empathetic yet realistic. My role is to provide you with information you need so you can make your own decisions. I have experience with multiple student populations including dual enrolled, first generation, military, non-traditional, LGBTQ+, and students with disabilities. I look forward to assisting you with all your career related needs whether you are a recent graduate, an experienced alum who is seeking to make a career transition, or an alum who is recently unemployed and seeking to re-enter the workforce. Josh joined our team in February 2024, serving as a Pre-Professional Advisor for students pursuing careers in healthcare and law. Pairing his knowledge of graduate admissions with a communications background, Josh assists students in promoting themselves to professional programs through academic achievement and extracurricular involvement. He also collaborates with university faculty and staff, graduate program representatives, and medical/legal professionals to host workshops, information sessions, and activities designed to prepare his students to take the next step in their professional journey.
In addition to his primary duties, Josh serves as the staff advisor for the Pre-Law Student Association, and is a member of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (NAAHP) and its Southeastern regional affiliate, SAAHP. His goal is to promote relational advisement through communication, inclusivity, and accountability.

Pre-Professional Advisor
Kelsey joined the Pre-Professional Advising Team within the Office of Career and Professional Development in January 2025. Currently, she supports students preparing to apply to Anesthesiologist Assistant, Medical (MD and DO), Physician Assistant and Podiatric programs on the Statesboro Campus. Serving this population includes one-on-one advising and mentoring, hosting workshops, test preparation guidance, and overall supporting them through the application process to these health graduate programs. Kelsey also serves on the Pre-Dental and Medical Review Board Committee and works closely with EalgeMed: Future Doctoral Mentoring Academy. She is also a current member of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (NAAHP) and its Southeastern regional affiliate, SAAHP
Kelsey is a Double Eagle of Georgia Southern University, and has a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration. Prior to joining our team, she has worked at Georgia Southern serving as the lead Medical Professions Advisor in the Office of Advising, working with students preparing for health graduate programs since 2017. She has mentored many student organizations in her time, including Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity and Pre-Dental Association, and has supported students of all populations and backgrounds. In her previous role, Kelsey taught First Year Experience Courses and co-piloted a Medical School Prep Course with faculty members from the College of Science and Mathematics. Her main goal and hope is that through teaching and mentoring these students, that they feel supported and confident that they can reach their future goals in these competitive health graduate programs.

Seymone joined the Pre-Professional Advising team in May 2025. She currently serves pre-health and pre-law students on the Armstrong, Liberty, and online campuses. In her role, Seymone provides services such as one-on-one advising, personal statement and resume critique, test preparation tools, workshops, and overall guidance through the application process. Seymone has worked in higher education in various roles but has had a continued passion for assisting students in achieving their academic and career goals. As a proud alumni of Georgia Southern University, she has earned both her B.A. in Political Science, M.A. in Social Sciences, and M.Ed. in Evaluation, Assessment, Research, and Learning. These roots continue to shape her commitment to equity, access, and student development in higher education. Adrianna graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations in 2023. Throughout college, Adrianna gained experience in radio, social media marketing, event planning and strategic communication. Adrianna first joined the OCPD team in September 2021 as the office’s public relations intern and now works full-time as a project manager. In this position, she oversees all marketing and communications for the department while helping to lead a talented team of students who each bring unique skills to the department’s marketing efforts.
In her free time, Adrianna loves listening to music (especially Taylor Swift), rooting for the Buffalo Bills and Georgia Southern, reading books and spending time with her family.
