Business Unit and Position Summary:
Crane Nuclear is a Business Unit within the Process Flow Technologies Group of Crane Co, a US multi-national company which specializes in highly engineered products in niche markets. Crane Nuclear provides valves, valve parts, valve testing products, and valve maintenance/testing services to domestic and international commercial nuclear power customers. Crane Nuclear features
recognized valve brands and is an industry leader in valve diagnostic technology and valve maintenance/testing scope-based process driven services.
The Accounting Intern will be an active part of our team and will gain exposure to a variety of areas within the accounting function every day. Experiences will be project focused but also involve a variety of day-to-day activities.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Perform daily controls and audits to maintain accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Help manage financial records, including inventory, retention processes, and data security protocols.
- Review and analyze data across multiple systems to identify discrepancies, determine root causes, and resolve exceptions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with implementation of workflow enhancements.
- Participate in month-end close activities.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information in a professional manner.
• Sound judgment and decision making skills.
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build business
relationships across department and levels.
• Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
