Position Summary:
The Latin American Association (LAA) is seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Photography & Video Intern. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students or emerging professionals to build their portfolio while gaining hands-on experience in event coverage, content creation, and nonprofit marketing. The intern will play a key role in capturing high-quality images and video content that highlight LAA’s programs, events, and impact in the community.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Event photography and videography:
Capture photos and videos at LAA events, programs, and community initiatives for use in marketing, social media, website, and promotional materials.
Content editing and production:
Assist in editing and producing short-form video content for digital platforms, including Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other marketing channels.
Asset library management:
Build and organize a photo and video asset library for future use across social media, website, and print materials.
Storytelling and testimonial gathering:
Conduct interviews and capture testimonials from program participants, partners, and community members to support LAA’s visual storytelling goals.
Visual content development:
Work collaboratively with the marketing team to create visual content that aligns with LAA’s brand identity, storytelling objectives, and campaign goals.
Trend research:
Research trends in video production, photography, and digital storytelling to enhance engagement and strengthen LAA’s visual presence.
Promotional material creation:
Assist in developing promotional materials featuring LAA’s work, including highlight reels, event recaps, and fundraising appeal videos.

Qualifications:
• Must own and be proficient in using personal photography and video equipment (DSLR/mirrorless camera, lenses, lighting, audio equipment, etc.)
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Photography, Film, Media, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience working with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lighting setups, and video production.
• Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut.
• Strong eye for composition, storytelling, and branding.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English – able to effectively communicate with clients in both languages.
• Excellent written, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Passion for community storytelling, visual media, and the Latin American Association’s mission.
• Commitment to a 15–20 hour weekly schedule (about 3-4 five-hour shifts) during one of the following timeframes:
Summer Semester: Mid/End of May – End of July/Early August 2025
Fall Semester: End of August/Early September – Early/Mid December 2025
Spring Semester: Mid-January – Late April/Early May 2026
